YetBarkingandDagenhampolicefailedtolinkthedeaths,untilweeksafterthefourthone.ThefilmtellsthestorythrougheyesofthefamiliesofPort'svictims,unpickinghowthepolicefailedtoproperlyinvestigateeachofthedeathsinturn.Thepolice'sassumptionsthattheseyounggaymenhaddiedfromself-inflictedoverdosesofchem-sexdrugsallowedPorttocontinuerapingandkillinginnocentyoungmen. ThefilmunravelsPort'ssinistercharacterandmodusoperandi.Portwasmotivatedbyadesiretosatisfyhislustforabusivedrugfuelledsexualencounters.Hefoundallhisvictimsthroughgaydatingandsocialmediasites,usingmultipleonlineprofiles. BarkingandDagenhampolice'sfailingshaveledtohugeangeramongstthefamiliesofPort'svictims.Somehaveaccusedthepoliceofinstitutionalhomophobia,andaskedifofficerswouldhaveinvestigatedmorethoroughly,hadfouryoungwomenturnedupdeadwithinsuchasmallradius. TheMetpolicehavereferredthemselvestotheIndependentPoliceComplaintsCommissionovertheirhandlingofthecaseandwillnotcommentonspecificallegationsuntiltheIPCCinvestigationiscomplete.
